Due to a miscommunication, he winds up living in a share-house dedicated to training shougi pros. Introduced to the world of shougi, Shinobu has finally made a connection with people who understand and accept him. However…now he wants to go pro too!?
Background
As a part of the JUMP START initiative, the first three chapters of Mononofu were published in English in VIZ Media's digital Weekly Shonen Jump on the same day as the Japanese release.
Takara Shinobu (高良 信歩)
Takara Shinobu is the main male protagonist of Mononofu. He is a first year student at Senga High School and an amateur shōgi player. He learnt to play shōgi in the boarding house Kayane Manor and has since aspired to become a professional shōgi player.
Shinobu has a slender body and black spiky hair. He is almost always shown as serious looking due to his rigid personality.
It turned out that Shinobu only had two outfits, one school uniform in the gakuran style, which he wore whenever he went out, and one track suit for use at home.

Side notes: This is one of my favorite shogi/ sports mangas and I's more or less a bit surprised for its "sudden" ending with only 5 volumes. I liked the characters and art is also pretty neat level so I'm now waiting to see why it all came close so soon. As the translation (unofficial and/) official aren't finished yet I do hope to find if the reason was in the story or in original plans to make the series only five volumes long.
