Synopsis: Yuki Tachibana, a withdrawn first grader, is convinced that the fourth floor of his school is home to supernatural creatures that few kids (and no adults) can see and he's worried about a recent influx of new, less friendly creatures and about his ability to perceive the true shape of things waning as he gets older. Most of the other kids mock Yuki, who they think is crazy due to his strange pronouncements and peculiar actions, and, aside from the creatures he sees, his only social interactions are with the school's kindly and open-minded caretaker, a new transfer student named Makoto Suzuki who's allocated the desk next to his and an enigmatic boy named IQ who always wears a box over his head.
Background
Gogo Monster won the Special Award at the 30th Japan Cartoonists Association Award in 2001. The series was published in English by VIZ Media under the VIZ Signature imprint on November 17, 2009.

Side notes: This manga is something that just made me to pick it up as I stumbled to it on Bato.to where the Portuquese translation was recently released. I didn't watch the publishing dates or anything like that mainly 'cause the synopsis itself made it appear interesting to read. The author, Matsumoto Taiyou has been in public lately mainly for his other work, Sunny, that won the 61st Shogakukan Manga Award for the general category in 2015. Also his work, Ping pong, was relatively much liked when it was animated in 2014.
Story is slice of life type and divided by the seasons. The first chapter is 90 pages long so there is room to tell a story but the art isn't my most liked style. It's been described as surrealistic so maybe that's that.^-^ I still liked enough to keep it on my list and I'm continuing it after I finish up writing my presentations for today.^-^
Yuki Tachibana
A first grade boy who is able to see creatures from the "other side." Yuki is an aloof child, mocked by his classmates for his strange yet matter-of-fact utterances about the things he sees. He would rather spend time hanging out with "Super Star" or "Chance" than make small talk with the other students, though he does cultivate a friendship with transfer student Makoto Suzuki.
