Side notes: As I looked a bit around I noticed that this manga again has a bit divided readers behind it. Although it felt pretty strong at first I noticed that there were clearly people that didn't like the story and placed it on the level of average or lower scores. I myself am not that much thrilled about romance themed mangas or josei but music is usually something that I like ( my favorite being Your lie in April and BECK). This manga comes from the author of Nodame Cantabile, a series with adult musicians and their life together.
The art in this manga is good and plot is a bit different so it's good in that way. I don't know if there is lots or even many computer science driven mangas that also take account of the music although in the side lines. The story is well paced and moves on without any problems so that I as a reader didn't even notice how long I'd been reading a series about the computers that is something I don't know anything about. So I'd say it's pretty good one to take into reading list if interested.
Main characters:
Kanade Ichinose (一ノ瀬 奏)
The main hero of the series. He is studying a music degree in conservatory. A violinist, who thoroughly enjoys his violin. In his third year of Music College, he's a an average college student. But, he has no drive, no real motivation to do anything with his life. Thinking about what sort of job he might do after college, if not go overseas to train under a maestro, he walks to his home. Which is when he sees a girl, Hana, barefoot in the snow. This chance encounter changes his life. He enters the world of Enthusiast Overclocking and E-Sports with a goal to beat Mike someday.
Original text by Ryptyq (MAL) modified by me.
Hana Nakamura (中村 ハナ)
The main heroine of the series. She works in a pineapple/fruit decoration factory and is good at overclocking because she learned from Mike.
Mike Nekoyashiki (猫屋敷 ミケ)
The number 1 overclocker in the world. He lives in a small apartment suite and uses Hana as his assistant to break his own world records regularly. He is very odd and peculiar as he likes to do weird dances live, whenever he wants to break a record.
Julia Suzuki (鈴木 珠里亞 / ジュリア)
A college student studying in pharmacy. She is infatuated with Mike. She overclocks with water and air. She also works at a cabaret club in Roppongi. When she meets Kanade, they team up in various competitions.
