Side notes: As with so many other mangas today this is also adapted into an anime which I've seen partly. Reason why not all of it is easy. It's an OVA series that came out lil random style and I kinda forgot about it although the art and story were okay to me. But the manga... it's again dark by atmosphere and the art is clearly more suited for adult readers. As I've noticed Alice in Wonderland turns easily into a survival game type of manga with dark corners and shadows controlling the plot line. But I still find this manga okay to read more suitable to my tastes compared to some other mangas in this genre.

Main characters

Ryouhei Arisu (有栖 良平)

A 3rd year high school student with the hidden potential to be one hell of an analyzer, he looks at things from afar and checks every details he can find, he keeps track of everything in the he learns so that he can find a way to put an end to this twisted game. Though he still has a long way to go, he further develops his abilities in Borderland, a place where games and human lives are nothing different.

He is often compared to his younger brother by his father, resulting for his lack of self confidence and pent up frustration. He would often daydream and wish that he and his friends would be able to go far away from reality, from his overly demanding father and stuck up younger brother but even so he's able to enjoy life and forget all of his worries when he's with his two best friends, Chota and Karube, both of which are with him in Borderland.

Every time he loses his sanity to the game, he always thinks of his friends, their sacrifices and his promise to them.

Yuzuha Usagi is the heroine of Alice in Borderland. A skilled mountaineer thanks to her father but lost hope when he committed suicide. Her alias which means "rabbit" in Japanese refers the White Rabbit in Alice in Wonderland.

Supporting

Daikichi Karube (苅部 大吉)
Karube is an old friend of Alice back from his high school days like with Chota, who's a waiter in a bar where Alice and Chota get free drinks. He is very short-tempered and doesn't hesitate to use strength in critical situations, but he can be a great leader, is always optimistic, and has a strong will to live. It is known that he got stronger because of a hard childhood.

Chouta Segawa (勢川 張太)

Chouta is Ryouhei's best friend since high school. He is a misfit with low self-esteem, is slow-minded and girl-crazy. He is as silly and weak as he is selfless and has a strong sense of friendship.

Saori Shibuki (紫吹 小織)
