Main character

Sora Andou (安藤 ソラ)
He planned to quit playing after middle school so he could focus on studying in high school. However, on the day of his last match, he meets Shiki Wakamiya, a girl who was his childhood friend. Shiki was chosen as a member of Japan's women's national soccer team when she was just in middle school, and she had since been chosen to join a league in America. Shiki gives Sora some advice during his last game that gives him some motivation to continue playing soccer.

Supporting

Shiki Wakamiya (若宮 四季)
She was one of the Japanese representatives in the women's soccer in middle school and was chosen to join the American league. She is shown to give Sora advice and motivation when he was contemplating on not continuing soccer.

She is actually Tsuyoshi, Sora's childhood friend who moved away due to her parents' divorce, and who was mistaken as a boy due to her boyish nature then. Due to her weak physical status, she admired Sora greatly for his skills in soccer and strived to be like him.

Masaomi Kanzaki (神崎 真臣)
He is a professional second goalkeeper from the Yokohama Club and often practices together with Sora. Immediately after his entrance to the team, he was placed as the second goalkeeper for his extraordinary skills and then became a regular after a while. He was placed back as second goalkeeper when Ooshida, a new goalkeeper, entered the team.

Since grade school, he was always the goalkeeper. Despite the pressure brought by such a role, he still loved giving his everything to protect the goal. He then met Risa, who was the manager in the soccer club, in university, married her, and had a son named Mamoru.

Because of Ooshida's injury, Kanzaki relieved him for the game, believing he finally had the chance to become a regular once more. Throughout his stay in the game, he proved his skills as a goalkeeper and was continuously praised. It was only when he was determined to stop Cristian, the rival team's ace, despite knowing that he wouldn't come out uninjured, that he was forced to withdraw from the game with a fractured jaw. Due to such a heroic act, he was then invited to the second club team of Germany.

Risa Kanzaki (神崎 理颯)
The wife of Masaomi. Risa appears as childish and extremely supportive of her husband. In university, she was the soccer club manager in which Masaomi was a member of. They started living together and eventually got married and had a son named Mamoru. She also persuaded Masaomi to push through with professional soccer instead of settling down for a corporate job.

Mamoru Kanzaki (神崎 護)
The son of Risa and Masaomi. He is in first grade and is portrayed as stoic and blunt even towards his parents. Despite his attitude, he was inspired by his father as a goalkeeper as seen in his PE class during Parent Day.

Mamoru literally means "protect" which Risa said pertains to a goalkeeper protecting his goal.

Kanetsugu Konno (紺野 兼続)
He is Sora's classmate and plays as the center back in the Soccer Club. He becomes friends with Seki when she asks him to teach her what an offside shot is.

Konno is an avid lover of history with the motto: "My life would have been so much easier if I was born in the Sengoku period."

Rinya Koshikawa (越川 凜哉)
Being an extremely popular person in school, he is always surrounded and admired by people. However, back in middle school, he was an average guy with closed-cropped hair because he was in the baseball club. He invited Sumeragi Chiyako, the girl he likes, to watch his game, which was unfortunately cancelled halfway due to a storm. Vexed, embarrassed, and realising his efforts went down the drain, he simply wished to be "reborn".

Upon entering high school, his body underwent a growth spurt and his acne was gone. Aware of his growing popularity, he began carelessly hanging out with friends, but realised his only cool side was his good looks. It is only when he sees Sora's hard work that he strived to change himself.

Yuka Mizuno (水野 由花)
She is seen in corporate clothing watching the match between Yokohama and Osaka, in which Sora partook in together with Kanzaki Masaomi.

Yuka was Sora's classmate in high school. One day, she decided to confess to an upperclassman and was rejected. On the same day, her class chooses a song for their Festival Choir's show. Unfortunately, the chosen song was "Song of Memories", a song that the upperclassman who rejected her liked. Not wanting to sing due to the painful reminder of the song, she volunteers to be the conductor, but performs badly.

She manages to pull herself together when Sora suggests "overwriting" her image of the song. The performance of the class became a hit, and her short solo was well received. After a while, she moves to another town, but not without telling Sora that she will keep watching him to see if he can really become 1/11 of the world's best soccer team. In the end, it is shown that she successfully "overwrote" her image of the song.

Shun Nomura (野村 瞬)
Shun is a first year who joined the Drama Club. Initially, he was part of a local pro's soccer team, but was told off as having "no sense" and will never be able to reach the top. He found joy in the Drama Club after watching their play during the entrance ceremony.

It was only when he was invited to play a soccer game with Sora, with the help of Maaya's push, did he realise that his heart truly belonged to the sport.

Maaya Oda (小田 麻綾)
Maaya is a third year and is the head of the Drama Club in Sora's high school. She is thought to be weird as she suddenly quotes dramatic lines and often exaggerates her gestures, but nonetheless is extremely optimistic and looks out for others.

She was the first one to notice what Nomura Shun truly wanted after watching his soccer game with Sora. Despite the obvious need of the club for male members, she was the most vocal for Shun to continue soccer instead of the Drama Club, even to the point of pretending to shun him out of the club.

She is the older sister of Oda Mayu.

Mayu Oda (小田 繭)
A sixth grader who is on the same team as Kanta. She is considered the team's top player alongside him. Because the middle school she would be attending has no soccer team, she strived to gain "lots of wins" for her last year.

She is the younger sister of Oda Maaya.

Shinichiro Makabe (真壁 慎一郎)
He was a member of the Soccer Club in middle school, but was only a substitute forward. He strived to become a starting member, but was devastated when it was Sora, a newcomer then, who was chosen. Frustrated and unable to keep up, he quit the club after middle school and started a group of people who simply wants to play soccer, and who he considers are under the same situation as him. Whilst the group is weak, he felt like he belonged.

He meets Sora again in high school when he saw him handing out flyers. He tells his best friend Shiratori that Sora was a selfish guy. It was only when he played together with Sora once more, with the help of Shiratori's words, did he finally manage to settle the unfair resentment he held towards Sora, and, in the end, joins the Soccer Club again.

Even though he is tall, Makabe's kicks are weak and he is bad at heading due to his stature.

Kouichi Shiratori (白鳥 光一)
He is Makabe's best friend and is part of his soccer team.

Shiratori is considered as his family's "pride". Ever since he was little, he was already aiming for a good college. Sick of the pressure it brings, he decides to join Makabe's team upon his invitation, and quickly became great friends with him.

He is forced to retire from the team when he decided to attend prep school in pursuit of his dream college. After their last game, in which Sora also participated, he suggested to Makabe that he join the Soccer Club, together with Sora, and reconcile with him.

Yukari Seki (関 由香里)
Seki is a loud girl who speaks in a rough tone, but is actually kindhearted and misunderstood.

It was because of her father's drunk tendencies that she strayed from her path. But after her parents divorced and her mother remarried, she exerted every effort to become close with her step father. Upon knowing that his hobby was soccer, she studied the sport in an attempt to converse with him, but didn't understand what an offside shot was, which led her to asking Konno what it is.

Nina Shinomori (篠森 仁菜)
She was the manager of the soccer club back in middle school. But due to her father's order of not joining any clubs in favour of studying, she decided not to join the soccer club in high school. It was only due to Sora's passion for soccer that she chose to go against her father's will.

Chiyako Sumeragi (䅣 千夜子)
Chiyako is always seen with her camera and is therefore dubbed as a "camera otaku". She likes taking pictures of anything that has a "sparkling" moment.

When she came to Rinya's baseball game in middle school upon his invitation, she took a picture of him swinging his bat relentlessly in the pouring rain. With that picture, she won an award and was published in a magazine. The title she gave for the picture was "Sparkle", which became one of Rinya's motivation to change.

Kanta Yamanaka (山中 寛太)
Kanta is a nine-year-old kid who is a forward in his soccer team. He chances upon Sora practicing his overhead shot and persuades him to teach it to him for his next match.
