Synopsis: The world is in mortal peril. Sir Noi Crezant, the Lizard Knight, has been sent to gain the aid of the great warrior Amamiya Yuuhi in hopes of finding the Princess Samidare and protecting the planet from the incredible "Biscuit Hammer" poised to crack the Earth in two. Unfortunately Yuuhi wants no part of it, and the Princess doesn't prove to be the shining "hero of justice" role model that Noi had hoped for.

Side notes: I'm picking this manga up mainly 'cause it loosely fits to the theme and there are so many people recommending it. Well if you can say that I've got a theme today.XDDD Well anyways the art is pretty good and I like it. Also the story starts well so it makes you hope for the best for the later chapters too. I'm afraid of cliches if there is going to be there a lots but as it is now (I'm just starting to read this manga) it's okay level and I'm liking this one.^-^
Main characters
Yuuhi Amamiya (雨宮夕日)
The main character of the story. A reclusive, glasses-wearing college student who initially refuses Noi Crezant's request to help save the world. The reason behind his unsocial nature is his grandfather, who raised Yuuhi and believed that having friends was useless. Eventually, he changes his mind in order to help Samidare Asahina, who he usually refers to as Princess.
His ability is called domain control. He can exert a weak telekinetic force on a small bubble of air, just enough to hold himself above the ground for a few seconds or slow down an enemy's attack. Although his overall combat skills are much weaker than that of most of the other characters.
Samidare Asahina (朝日奈 さみだれ)
An enthusiastic young girl, and one of the protagonists, though she does not appear to have an animal partner. Her body is extremely strong, enough to do a hundred push-ups with Amamiya on her back or destroy a golem in one blow. She wants to save the Earth from the Biscuit Hammer, but her reason for doing so is so she can eventually destroy the world herself.

Hangetsu Shinonome
Another one of the humans who made a contract with an animal partner. He introduces himself as a "Hero of Justice", and even carries a card. In battle, he's far more skilled than Amamiya or Asahina. His partner is Ludo Shubarie, the Dog Knight, and his ability, Houtengeki, is an invisible energy spear.
Mikazuki Shinonome
Mikazuki is the brother of Hangetsu, and is also a knight. He is the crow knight. Though he may appear normal, he is actually obsessed with fighting. He also is quite a womanizer, and is not afraid to speak his mind in front of them, and still will ask them out if they beat him up. Mizazuki is a big prankster and isn't shy about making jokes about people (i.e. asking the teacher if he wore a wig in the middle of class). These qualities make him very popular at Yuuhi's school. He has a personal grudge against Yuuhi, because his brother died saving him, so therefore he beleives Yuuhi to be a stronger existence.
It is also said he loves the princess.
Noi Crezant
Noi is the familiar of Amamiya Yuuhii, the Lizard Knight. Noi is a rather logical being and believes it is his and Yuuhi's duty to protect the Princess and defeat the Mage's plot to destroy the Earth. He becomes aware of the plans of Yuuhi and Samidare (the Princess) and is rather disappointed in Yuuhi's attitude towards the struggle between the Animal Knights and the Mage. Noi is quite knowledge about the other Animal Knights (although he does not know their human-counterparts), the Mage, and other various details of the struggle. Can only travel a short distance from Yuuhi before being teleported back to his side. Can't be seen by regular humans.
Animus
The main antagonist and creator of the golems. He has a very laid back and friendly personality. He is Anima's twin older brother, who came from the future to destroy the planet with his biscuit hammer. He possess great magical powers and desires ultimate knowledge. He considers himself to be a God.
