Side notes: Although this is an award winning work and has been adapted into an Anime... and it has a sequel it's not been translated into English yet. The translation of the manga is stalled or progresses r-e-a-l slow. The first three chapters were translated back in 2010 and then there was a gap of five years before the latest translated chapter came out. So it's slow progressing and pretty much nothing happening work at the moment (2 of the scanlation groups are inactive as June 2016).

And 'cause there is also an Anime... maybe no-one has been really interested about the manga.

Main characters

Mamoru Endou (円堂守)
(Captain, Goal Keeper)

Endou Mamoru is the captain of Raimon jr. High's Soccer team. He starts out as a goalie but also play as libero later on. He is the type of person who never gives up and his teammates benefit from his mental strength and encouragement. Mamoru always think of others before himself. He also shows great admiration toward his grandfather Daisuke, which was also one of greatest goal keeper around when he was alive.

Shuuya Gouenji (豪炎寺 修也)
He is the ace striker and voice of reason of the team. His sister, Yuka is in a coma because of Kageyama's interference to stop him from play against Teikoku Academy. He keeps an amulet made by his sister, and make a promise with her about stop playing soccer, but when he realizes his passion for the game, he changes that promise to become the champion of the Football Frontier.

Yuuto Kidou (鬼道有人)
He wears goggles and a red cape. Originally from Teikoku. The reason why he plays for Teikoku is for his sister, Haruna Otonashi. He was forced to win 3 constructive soccer championships in order to be with her again, so he decided not to contact her for 6 years, leading Otonashi to believe she gets in his way. After seeing Kageyama's wrongdoings, he and the rest of Teikoku quit. Eventually, Kidou joins Endo's team, changing his cape to blue but changes it back to red in the FFI arc.

Supporting

Shirou Fubuki (吹雪 士郎)
Fubuki Shirou is the captain of Hakuren Junior High School's Soccer club in Hokkaido. He is both an excellent defender as well as the team's ace striker. He joins the Raimon Eleven from episode 33.

Ichirouta Kazemaru (風丸 一郎太)
Originally a member of the track club team, Kazemaru is convinced by Endo of becoming player of the soccer team, because the team needed 4 more players for their match against Teikoku; if Endo couldn't get them the soccer club would be closed. Kazemaru is finally convinced by the promise of fighting a lot of stronger players, altogether with Endo fighting spirit.

In the fight against Aliea Academy Kazemaru became obsessed with power but due to his lack of power he leaves Raimon Eleven which left Endou crushed, ina traumatic state and couldn't even touch a soccer ball. After the fight between Aliea academy He and the rest of the original Raimon Eleven controlled by the Aliea meteorite fought with the current Raimon Eleven but was freed from the Aliea meteorite and rejoined Raimon Eleven.

Akio Fudou (不動明王)
A very sarcastic player whose technique and game strategizing abilities rival those of Kidou Yuuto's. His first major appearance in the anime is in episode 37 as a member of True Teikoku Academy.

Yuuki Tachimukai (立向居 勇気)
Originally a midfielder but became a goalkeeper due to his admiration for Endou. He is a great goalkeeper like Endou and can perform God Hand & Majin The Hand. He joined Inazuma Caravan to defeat Aliea Academy. He then creates Maoh The Hand to stop Teres's shoot.
