Synopsis: Okamura Hiiro is introverted and loves books. To him, books are his raison d'etre. His story starts with usual gimmick of summoning of heroes. Five people summoned, but one of them is just an outsider dragged in accidentally, that person is Hiiro. The four others are his classmates, but it's not like they are friends. Unlike him, they are riajuus. Hiiro decided not to help the country, his reason? "I don't believe you. I'm not friends with them. It's not my business, and I'm an ordinary person who cares for my own life, so bye," and he sets for his own journey. Little does others know, that this ordinary person, Hiiro, actually hides a power which could change the world!

Hiiro is one of the 5 people from Earth who were transported to Edea by the First Princess Lilith.
He is extremely smart and logical, but he only cares for himself, and only does things if offered a reward, or if it would benefit him in some way, even when an innocent person's life is on the line. Hiiro doesn't care about the different races, and is one of the few people (if not the only person) who doesn't discriminate between them. He also has a great love of books, as well as the food that is in Edea.
Muir Castreia (ミュア・カストレイア)
A young Gabranth who thinks of Hiiro as an older brother.
Her age is 12 years with appearance of silver hair that reached till her waist, she wears a woolen hat that conceals her hair. Her big eyes have clear sky-blue pupils.
She has vowed to get stronger. But she is unable to believe in herself. She spent her days doubting whether or not she will even be able to influence her own life. To her, fighting is scary and being protected makes her feel relieved. But still, there are people she believes in.
Whether it was good times or bad times, Muir is still honest with herself. She is trying to be true to herself. She has the will to be honest with herself.

A student summoned as a hero. She is talkative and smart. Her slightly wavy, black hair hang over her shoulders. From her cattish eyes, there is a strong resolution of never letting go of her prey.
Shinobu came from Kansai. She is active in the newspaper club and also planned to find employment in that field in the future.
Taishi Aoyama (青山大志)
A student summoned to be a hero. Taishi has long brown-dyed hair, an earnest expression, and a gentle aura. He is tall and handsome so he is overwhelmingly popular with the girls.
Shuri Minamoto (皆本朱里)
A student summoned as a hero. Shuri has pretty, glossy and long black hair.
She has a voluptuous body that attracts boys. Her charming points also included the kind of drooping eyes and the mole under her eye.
She belonged to the tea club and the boys sometimes came by to ogle her in her kimono.
Chika Suzumiya (鈴宮千佳)
A student summoned as a hero. She is a talkative and popular girl. Her open and direct attitude in dealing with people gained her their goodwill.

Arnold was a victim of slavery. His ears, the pride of a beastman, had been taken away eternally just because his master happened to be in a bad mood. He was able to rid of the magic lock crest and fled and had someone that knew about the cruel treatment of slaves kill his master. With the death of his master, Arnold officially became free. After he got his freedom, he became a travelling cook.
Arnold was under Rarashik's tutelage after Judom forced her to.

A girl whom Hiiro saved.
Koko (ココ)
A small girl from Ames who Hiiro saved from the Harios Brothers.
Panis (パニス)
Koko's father who owns an armory shop.
