Synopsis: A gag manga based on Akiko Higashimura's real life story.
Himawari is about an office lady named Akiko who is very good at drawing illustrations for her company bulletins. She drew manga as a kid, but hadn't pursued it. Her father Kenichi works at the same company. He is a tropical fruit freak and is on a different wavelength than others.

Side notes: As this is a real life experience based manga it's fun to compare the another work by the same mangaka. It can also be seen as a sort of continuation to the Kakukaku Shikajika as it tells what happened to the mangka after graduation (not literally though). Art is okay and not bad. Charas are fun too so it's no wonder that it was nominated for Manga Taisho Award in 2008.
