Synopsis: Welcome to the world of Animal Country. In this world, there exists thousands of animals except for 1: a man. That is, until a strange baby was found by the young raccoon Monoko. Now, she has made it her duty to be the child's mother in this world where the strong eat and the weak are eaten! (MAL)

Baka updates:  One day a tanuki named Monoko stumbles across a baby abandoned by its mother. Having no family of her own, she raises the baby to the best of her ability even though they originate from different species. Hardships and enemies face the tanukis but that doesn't stop Monoko protecting the baby at all costs. Many trials await this baby as it grows and communicates with the animal world.

Main characters


Tarouza Momonoya (タロウザ)
A human child who possesses a mysterious cry that can communicate with any animal. 


Monoko is his mother who raised him since he was a baby. He lives together with plant-eating animals of different species, and wishes for a world where animals do not need to eat each other to survive.

He has strong claw marks on his left side of the body on the shoulder level.










Capri Luce (カプリ)

A human girl who was raised among a pack of lions. Like Tarouza, she has a cry that she can use to talk to any animal. She is a carnivorous girl who thinks of plant-eating animals as "prey".


















Kurokagi (クロカギ)

A lynx that questions the "strong devour the weak" order of the world. Ever since his life was saved by Tarouza, he's vowed to fight for his sake.
















Monoko (モノコ)

A female Tanuki and Tarouza's mother. Her parents were eaten by Lynx, and she was alone when she found Tarouza as a baby, and decided to become his mother.


















Riemu Vivre (リエム)
A human girl raised by Gorillas in the isolated paradise of Gene Grail. She also possesses a cry that can communicate with all animals. She does not wish to leave Gene Grail in fear of the harsh world out there.


She learned many things about Animal Country, and humanity, from notes left by a human named Kuou, which were kept in a old library in Gene Grail.
