Synopsis: Takamiya Honoka is a regular student whose only problem seems to be that he sits next to Kagari Ayaka, the school's #1 beauty. They have never spoken to each other before and any small interaction between them immediately results in her fanclub beating him. Yet when a falling part of the school's building is about to send him to the afterlife, it's Kagari that comes to his rescue. Only... she's dressed as a witch, carrying him in her arms and floating on a broom?! Kagari tells him it is her mission to protect him and that now she can finally protect him openly rather than undercover.

Side notes: I started reading this manga at the same time as the anime was airing but although I liked both I forgot or had no time for it after the anime ended. So that's the reason why I'm still on the second volume with my reading.XDD Art is pretty clear and cool, so it's not too crafty. The story plot is quite fun but maybe a bit closer to average level than great manga. My main concern was the plot mainly with some too stereotypical characters that couldn't grow up past their role limiters which could have been a good thing. Still it's a nice manga to read and has a strong reader's support behind so I'm sure that it goes well on any manga reading list that you might be having on your hands.
P.S. According one reviewer on MAL this manga was originally set to be a yuri manga but the setting was changed for some reason. If this is true... it clears some thing that were bothering me with this series. Still a fast check up for the mangaka there is no clear supporting facts for this information. At least the few mangas she's written none of them contains yuri or shoujo ai.
Main characters
Ayaka Kagari (火々里 綾火)
The School Chairman's daughter, Ayaka is the most popular student in school and a strong Fire Witch who has the ability to manipulate fire, she often goes ballistic when on the attack. Her legions of fans refer to her as "Princess," she belongs to a group of witches who were called the "Workshop Witches" which is a group of witches who establishes workshop or studios in every major cities to monitor and keep in check other witches who might use their powers for evil purposes. She is taller than Takamiya and she takes her mission of protecting him very seriously that she will not hesitate to go to any extent to keep him safe. She is also capable of fighting without the use of magic.
Honoka Takamiya (多華宮 仄)
The male protagonist of the story, he is basically a weakling with no special powers and lives a very boring life, he often gets bullied by Ayaka's fan club members. After his encounter with Kuraishi, he founds out that Ayaka has been secretly protecting him from the evil "Tower Witches" all the time, and from there on Ayaka has to always accompany him wherever he goes and has even kept him from being bullied by her unofficial fan club.
Later on he has asked Ayaka to teach him how to use magic, which she reluctantly did.
He is mainly being protected by Kagari and the Workshop Witches from the Tower Witches because of the "White Stuff" within him.

Kazane Kagari (火々里 かざね)
Kazane is the head of the school. She is Ayaka's mother. She is also the head of the workshop witches in her area where she establishes her workshop in her school.
Apparently, she and Chronoire, knew each other for a long time and it was even hinted that they haven't spoken to each other for 130 years which suggest that both she and the latter have been alive for a couple of hundred years since the crusade.
Kasumi Takamiya (多華宮 霞)
Honoka's sister, who has a brother complex with him. She is also a "Workshop Witch" who is capable to turning cute little plushies (in her case, it's her teddy bear) into gigantic combat mechs.
Tower Witches
Tanpopo Kuraishi (倉石 たんぽぽ)
A Tower Witch targeting Takamiya. She specialize in using illusionary magic and has massive numbers of mechanical bunnies called "Hunters" who serves as her familiars. She, along with four of her fellow "Witches of the Tower," have transferred to Takamiya's school in order to get close and capture him at the same time—that is if she and her fellow witches can get pass Ayaka.
Chronoire Schwarz VI (クロノワールシュヴァルツ・シックス)
The most powerful of the Tower Witches. She specializes in potions and explosive magic. She has a humanoid alligator named "Wani shinshi" who serves both as her familiar and enforcer.
Apparently, she and Kazane knew each other for a very long time—since the crusade—which suggests that like Kazane, she is about a couple of hundred years old.
Rin Kazari (飾 鈴)
She is a tower witch and part of the "Ivory Quintet" who were tasked to capture Honoka. She is basically the shy one among her colleagues, she is armed with a scythe and has a fossilized skeleton of a Tyrannosaurus Rex that serves as her familiar.
