Side notes: This manga is too present time that I couldn't jump over it. The manga itself has a good score well above 8 and therefore it's entitled to stay on today's list... though it's on the extra list but still it's here.XD The anime was something that I's waiting to see but I'm a bit disappointed to it's start. So it's better to skip that one and see what the manga has to offer.
The manga began as a two part one shot that soon got enough positive feedback so it was turned on as a monthly publication series. As I've now read the oneshots and one extra story it's easy to see the attraction of the series. And I think it works better as an manga than an anime. -.-; Art is on good level and it's clean. Story pacing also works better in manga format than in anime that was in my opinion a bit off. So all in all, I find it a good to read and for a 4-koma manga it works well also for a longer publication too.
Main characters
Mizuki Usami (宇佐美 みずき)
A second year middle school student, and a member of the art club. She's the heroine of the story, and has relatively fewer problems.
On the first two episodes of the anime she's been trying to paint apples as her theme and criticising that others aren't working for the sake of the club and it's future.
Subaru Uchimaki (内巻 すばる)
A second year middle school student, and a member of the art club. He's the main character of this series, and has a few small problems. He only draws girl anime characters in search of a perfect "waifu."
Collette (コレット)
An underclassman who is also a member of the art club. She moved to Japan with her parents for their careers and has been there for around 7 years. She got so used to living in Japan that she decided to continue living there even after her parents returned home.
President (部長)
The president of the Art Club that the above two are members of. He's taller than the other two, but also has more problems. He is also a bit lazy and "pervert" as can be seen when he takes picture of Mizaki's undies when she's modelling for Subaru.
