Synopsis: A small five-year-old girl named Subaru no longer has time for friends and play. Why is this? Her twin brother Kazuma is dying and gradually forgetting everything. Even Subaru. And so the girl visits him every day, talking with him and dancing for him, trying to make him remember her. And he always does by the end of the day. Encouraged by a friend to join ballet classes, the girl does so and falls in love with the dance.

Side notes: Well this is the main reason why I'm late today with everything else. I just read all in one go on Monday and the sequel on today so there isn't much to say about any other mangas. In my opinion the art is "old" and is clearly the child of the 1990's. It's not bad but I can't label it as good either, it's somewhere in the realm of good and average... but it all comes to the taste of the reader.^-^
The story is quite drama filled from the start on but as much as it tries it is a bit empty inside or it doesn't capture the main character and her mind as well as possible. The story also has many characters that come and go like a water being in the spotlight for a short moment and never reappearing again. But what is really good is all the information and knowledge about dancing (drawing character that dance) though it feels a bit too easy for Subaru to adapt different styles and live for the dance only.

Main character
Subaru Miyamoto (宮本 すばる)
She started to dance to be able to communicate with her sick brother and make him to remember things they used to do together. Her mother never realised that she pushed Subaru away when she was only concentrating on Kazuma. In anger Subaru said something to her that she regrets all her life 'cause it sounded like she didn't care about her brother... and her brother heard what she said. She was never able to say sorry for her brother.
After meeting Isuzu Hibino she gets immersed into dancing and other people think that she's in a bad company when she goes out for every night to be able to dance and learn more about dancing. She also gets some formal dance education from Kureha but as a teacher she's deeply disappointed in Subaru who seems to be wasting her talent and isn't "dedicated" to do dance practises.

Kazuma Miyamoto (宮本 和馬)
Subaru's younger twin brother. He died after getting a brain tumor that couldn't be removed.
Isuzu Hibino (日比野 五十鈴)
Former world class primadona that after retirement strated a Cabaret and became Subaru's real balee teacher. She was in the hospital when Subaru's brother was in the same place and got to know Subaru that way although they never talked before the accidentally met on the day of Kazuma's burial.
Takako Sunohara (春原 多香子)
Well know ballerina that started her career in USA. She became interested of Subaru and wished to be able to perform with her in the same stage and be her friend. She and Subaru became the stars of the Lausanne Ballet dancing competition.
Mana Kureha (呉羽 真奈)
Her mother is a former ballet dancer who has been teaching her and other kids for a long time. Mana wanted only her mother's attention when she noticed that her mother was closer with other kids and taking care of them instead of her. After that she started enjoy dancing and she invited her friends to dance studio. Her relationship with Subaru is complicated. She is jealous of her talent but at the same time she admires Subaru. She had a crush on Kazuma.
Mako Kureha (呉羽 真子)
A former ballet dancer that is quite famous in the Japanese ballet world. She uses her talent to teach young kids and other students a ballet dancing. At the beginning she was excited about Subarus's talent but later on she became frustrated of her absence from the lessons which she thought being disrespectful towards herself and her dancing school. She uses her connections to get Mako better education and room in the professional dancing world.
Kumazawa
He's a former ballet dancer that became well known choreographer. At first he's not excited about Subaru but after witnessing her talent and ability he starts to like her a bit more. Still as the story goes they work only for one project and they never meet again. He has a connection to Isuzu Hibino.
Ivan Gorki/ Vanya
Russian ballet dancer that is staying temporarily in Japan. He also has a connection to Isuzu Hibino and after some talks he takes over Subarus training towards Lausanne Dance competition. He's in the key role pushing Subaru further in hopes that she would kindle the fire in his other student's heart. Later on he becomes more interested of Subaru and changes his objectivities.
Zack Jasper
Former dancer and owner of the american dancing group who manages to capture Subaru to become his dancing groups star. His group consists of professional dancers from different nationalities that "don't fit" to European Ballet ideal that is dominant in America and in the western world.

Pricilla Roberts
Leading ballerina at New York ATB* and principal of the school. She is great dancer and gets interested about Subaru and her group after reading articles about her. They meet for a couple days that has deep impact on Subaru. Although Pricilla likes Subaru she also doesn't want to admit that Subaru could be the next person in her place on the stage 'cause that's what she wants to do and be, a dancer.

Alexander Sign
Mathematician and FBI agent. He blows up his cover for an accident and falls in love with Subaru although he has a fiancee. Their relationship has it's moments but it is short lived due of the other circumstances.
